Powerwatch has been doing EMF surveys for over 15 years for a wide range of
commercial, industrial and residential buildings, commissioned by councils, by
private and public organisations and businesses, and by members of the public.
We are currently concentrating on residential grade surveys.
To meet the increasing number of requests from individuals who ask for low-cost
residential surveys from an independent company, Powerwatch has set up
EMF-Surveys to provide a service for people who are concerned about the levels
of powerfrequency or radiofrequency radiation in their home.
These concerns may arise from a variety of situations:
People may want to find the levels of EMFs they are currently exposed to because
of a sensitivity to electric fields (EHS) leading to ill-health symptoms.
Powerwatch has been
researching the links between EMFs and health risks for 17 years, and is
completely independent of government and industry.
Powerwatch follows the EMF debate, highlights new developments in their
news stories online and members of the staff write articles and books,
available to subscribers, which are updated, when possible, to include new
information on the issues.
Instruments for sale or for hire, some of which have been designed by Alasdair
Philips, Director of Powerwatch, are available on the trading site affiliated to
Powerwatch, www.emfields.org.
Most of these instruments are easily used by people
without a scientific training. We also have a more complex instrument (the MW35
monitor) for measuring microwaves which does need some technical knowledge
and/or experience to take and interpret the readings.
Over the years we have investigated and tested many screening materials and EMF
reduction techniques. We draw on this knowledge to help and advise on remedial
action where this is deemed to be appropriate as a result of the survey.
